MINEX Russia Forum 2015 was held in Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel in Moscow from 6-8 October 2015.
Nominees and winners of the 9th Russian Mining Excellence Awards were announced during the official part of the gala dinner.
Nomination “Explorer of the year”.
Nominees: Polymetal International Plc, Amur Minerals LLC, GV Gold (Vysochaishy, OJSC).
The winner: Amur Minerals LLC – in June, 2015 the company completed the “prospecting phase” of its’ Malmyzh and North Malmyzh copper-gold porphyry exploration and mining license and listed on the State Balance of reserves a C1 + C2 reserve of 1.39 billion tonnes of ore grading 0.52% copper equivalent.
Nomination “Mining project of the year”.
Nominees: Gold mining Company “PAVLIK”, Longxing LLC (Zijin Mining Group), Kolmar.
The winner: Gold mining Company “PAVLIK” – The “Pavlik” Project is currently one of the most successfully implemented in the Russian gold mining industry investment projects in recent years. Investment in the project has been over $ 550 million from the beginning of development. The mining and concentration complex was officially put into operation on August 15, 2015.
Nomination “Investor of the year”.
Nominees: Interminerals LLC, Kolmar, Longxing LLC (Zijin Mining Group).
The winner: Denisovskaya mine is one of just a few mines in Russia which came on stream in the last 25 years and the only operating mine in Yakutia. It is also the only mine in the post-Soviet region where all production activities are expected to be conducted in accordance with the room-and-pillar mining method.
Nomination “HR project of the year”.
Nominees: Kinross Gold Corporation, Polymetal International Plc, NP “Youth Leaders Mining Forum”. The winner: NP “Youth Leaders Mining Forum” – The All-Russian championship on solving fuel and energy cases is the largest in Russia and the CIS countries engineering competition, consisting of internal selection stages which pass on the basis of participating universities, and also the final stage that takes place in Moscow.
Nomination “Sustainable development project of the year”.
Nominees: Metalloinvest LLC, Kinross Gold Corporation.
The winner: Metalloinvest LLC – social and economic partnership of Metalloinvest with local and regional administrations. These programs include corporate reform programs aimed at the sustainable development of economic and social potential of these territories, programs for support and development of social infrastructure.
Nomination “Event of the year”.
The winner: Longxing LLC (Zijin Mining Group). Longxing LLC (a subsidiary of Chinese Zijin Mining Group) officially launched the Kyzyl-Tashtyg mining and ore-dressing plant at the polymetallic deposit of the same name in Tuva on 26 June 2015. Investment in the project totaled 16.8 billion rubles. Once the mining and ore-dressing plant (GOK) reaches its design capacity, the plant is expected to generate up to 400 million rubles per annum in the form of income taxes and fees for the budget of the Republic of Tuva.
Nomination “Mining Legend”.
The winner: outstanding scientist in the field of mining sciences, academician Kliment Trubetskoy.
MINEX Russian Mining Excellence Award was established by the MINEX Russia Forum in 2007 with the aim to encourage, recognise and reward excellence in the Russian mining and geological industry.
Russian Mining Excellence Awards are open to local and international businesses operating in Russia and are run by a group of independent Awards Committee members which ensures the Award’s credibility and highest industry esteem.
The award has become an instant success by offering an unbiased and independent platform for highlighting success stories and awarding Russian and International companies and managers for their outstanding achievements in improving mining industry standards and practices in Russia.
